The UTURN Range
Groundwork Drawing

Technical

The ‘UTURN’ range of vehicle turntables are designed to sit in the ground providing a non-obtrusive flush fit to the surrounding area.

For installation, to provide a long term sound solution, we strongly recommend sitting our turntables on a 100mm concrete base.  Compacted ground is fine in the short term:  however, experience shows that constant use over a period of time can lead to subsidence.

We can provide an installation service to cater for your individual requirements.  Whether you require full  ground-works,  turntable assembly and commissioning or simply for us to check over an installation you have done yourself (we provide a comprehensive installation manual  and telephone backup).

The required concrete base is as little as 200mm below finished ground level - depending on what top surface you choose for your turntable and irrespective of whether it is a manual or motorised installation.

Due to our modular design, an upgrade from a manually operated table to a motorised version does not require disturbing the initial installation.

The material makeup of our turntables consists of bright zinc plated mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and recycled composites.  All steel fabrication is carried out at our factory in Stafford in the Midlands.

Our turntables run on inverted nylon rollers incorporating sealed for life bearings, ensuring maintenance requirements are kept to a bare minimum.

One of the many benefits of incorporating our roller running track in the top of the turntable is that this entirely prevents any debris  (which inevitably finds its way under a turntable) from fouling the track ,which is crucial to a smooth operation.

The visible top surface of the turntable is capped with a choice of materials depending on it’s operating environment. These materials vary from aluminium chequer plate, natural treated timber, recycled plastic in various aesthetically-pleasing non-slip finishes to stone pavers and even resin bound gravel.

The weight carrying capacities of the ‘UTURN’ range are more than adequate for the size of vehicle rotated.

Our popular 4.1m turntable, comfortably turns a large people carrier (MPV), whereas our 6m model will accommodate and rotate two of the same with ease.

Motorised models are powered by a 240 volt three phase industrial motor, with power supplied through an inverter: enabling the supply to come from a domestic household circuit.

There are a number of control options available for the motorised models. The various choices can be viewed on the ‘Price Quoter’ page.
